SUVPick uses cookies and similar technologies to support website functions, remember preferences, understand readership, and deliver advertising. This policy explains what those technologies do, how outside services may use them, and the choices available when visiting suvpick.com.
Read this page alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains personal information handling more broadly. Cookies are only one part of that activity. We may process server logs, submitted messages, and other information without placing a cookie on your device.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores through your browser. They can remember a preference, recognize a browser, or help a service connect activity across visits. A cookie does not necessarily contain your name or email address.
However, cookies can contain identifiers that distinguish your browser from others. When combined with browsing activity or other records, those identifiers may involve personal information. We do not treat every cookie as anonymous simply because it lacks a name.
Similar Technologies
Websites may also use local storage, pixels, scripts, and identifiers attached to links. These technologies work differently, but some serve purposes similar to cookies, such as remembering settings, measuring activity, or attributing a referral.
This policy covers those technologies where relevant. Blocking cookies alone may not prevent every form of collection. Website requests can still transmit technical information needed to deliver a page, maintain security, or perform another permitted function.
First-Party and Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are associated with the website you visit. On SUVPick, they may support functions such as saved preferences. Third-party cookies are associated with another domain, often through advertising, embedded content, or an outside service.
The domain alone does not explain the purpose. A first-party cookie can support measurement, while an outside service may provide a necessary function. We classify technologies by what they actually do rather than who supplies them.
Necessary Cookies
Necessary cookies support functions requested by visitors or protect the operation of the website. Depending on the configuration, they may remember privacy choices, maintain a requested session, or help distinguish legitimate traffic from automated abuse.
A technology should not be labeled necessary merely because it benefits the publisher. Its purpose and applicable requirements matter. Disabling genuinely necessary cookies may prevent a requested feature from working, although it should not automatically require accepting unrelated tracking.
Preference Cookies
Preference cookies remember choices that make repeat visits more convenient. For example, WordPress comment forms can offer to save your name, email address, and website address so you do not have to enter them again.
These cookies should follow the choices presented when the feature is used. Their presence does not mean your email address becomes public. Publication of comments and the handling of submitted information are explained in our Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps us understand readership and website performance. Depending on its configuration, it may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure page visits, traffic sources, and interactions. Reports can help identify navigation problems and useful subjects.
Analytics settings affect collection and retention. We should not describe the service as collecting no personal information simply because reports summarize activity. Where consent is required, the relevant tracking should remain inactive until the appropriate choice is made.
Google provides further information on how Google uses cookies and its partner-site privacy information. Those notices explain Google’s practices but do not replace an accurate description of our own configuration.
Google AdSense and Advertising
Google AdSense and participating advertising services may use cookies and related technologies to deliver advertisements, measure performance, limit repetition, and address fraud. Personalization depends on settings, visitor choices, and applicable requirements.
Some advertising activity may qualify as targeted advertising, sale, or sharing under privacy laws. Relevant opt-out controls should address that processing. Turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all ads; contextual advertisements may still appear.
More information is available in Google’s advertising privacy information. Advertising technologies must be classified according to their actual functions. A nonpersonalized advertisement should not automatically be described as involving no cookies or personal information.
Affiliate Links and Amazon Associates
Affiliate links can contain identifiers that tell a merchant which publisher referred a visitor. Merchants and affiliate providers, including Amazon where applicable, may use cookies or other methods to connect qualifying transactions with a referral.
Following an affiliate link takes you to another business’s website. Its cookie and privacy practices then apply to your activity there. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains compensation, while the merchant’s notices explain its tracking and available choices.
Cloudflare and Spam Protection
Cloudflare may use cookies or similar identifiers for enabled security and delivery features. Whether a particular technology appears depends on the services configured and the request involved. Security tools should not be treated as unrestricted permission for unrelated tracking.
Akismet may process information submitted through comments to identify spam. That processing should not automatically be described as cookie-based. Our Privacy Policy explains relevant comment information, while the provider’s notice describes its own practices.
Mailchimp and Email Tracking
Newsletter services such as Mailchimp can use tracking pixels and rewritten links to measure email engagement. These are not necessarily website cookies, but they can record interactions connected with a subscriber.
Collection depends on enabled settings and applicable choices. Unsubscribing stops future marketing messages but does not automatically erase every earlier record. Our Privacy Policy should explain the newsletter configuration and how to request further assistance.
Cookie Duration
Session cookies generally last for a browsing session. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or are removed. The duration varies by provider, purpose, configuration, and browser behavior; there is no single expiry period for every technology.
Our cookie inventory should identify actual cookie names, providers, purposes, and durations. Stored information may have a different retention period from the cookie itself. Deleting a cookie does not necessarily delete records already held by a provider.
Managing Your Choices
Where applicable, our cookie controls let you accept or reject optional categories and revisit your preferences. Consent should involve a clear choice. Merely scrolling, closing a notice, or continuing to browse should not substitute for consent where it is required.
You can withdraw consent through the same available controls. That choice affects future processing covered by the withdrawal. It does not automatically reverse earlier lawful activity or remove records that must be retained for a separate legitimate reason.
Browser settings also let you inspect, block, or delete cookies. Choices may need to be repeated across devices and browsers. Private browsing does not prevent every form of collection, and clearing storage can remove previously saved privacy preferences.
Privacy Signals and Policy Changes
Where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control. That functionality must be implemented and tested. Older Do Not Track settings are different and should not be assumed to produce the same result.
We update this policy when technologies or practices change. For questions about a cookie, provider, or privacy choice, use our Contact Us page and identify the relevant issue. Please avoid sending passwords, browsing histories, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
